Nestled in the heart of the Centre of Excellence for Upholstery, Wallace & Howe is a family run business specialising in finely hand crafted sofas, chairs, stools and headboards.
Creative Director Lee was born into the world of furniture making with his mother and then his siblings working in the profession. In a nod to this, the company name is derived from family names to preserve the heritage of the family skill set.
Employing an elite group of cutters, machinists and upholsterers, Wallace & Howe insists on using only the very highest quality materials and fabrics.
Some of the companies we work with include Designers Guild, Romo, Rose Uniake and Pierre Frey amongst others.
Wallace and Howe prides itself on sofa and chair designs that would look great in any home. Working closely with interior designers, architects and customer requirements, Wallace & Howe are constantly evolving to design and develop pieces using traditional furniture making methods to provide the luxury and comfort of furniture that will stand the test of time.
Our furniture is created from kiln dried hardwood frames which are glued, screwed and dowelled in a traditional manner to ensure that every piece that is made is built from a strong foundation. All material is hand cut, hand sewn and upholstered by our dedicated craftsmen to ensure that every piece of upholstery we produce is perfect in every way. We know it’s not just on the surface that counts either, we can help build the perfect sofa or chair using choices from coil and serpentine springs, from feather and down filled cushions, to feather around a foam core, to fibre backs, all sourced from local suppliers.
